How long will it last?

Your porcelain veneers and porcelain crowns are sturdy and affixed securely to the surface of your teeth. If properly cared for, you can expect porcelain crowns and veneers to last as long as fifteen or twenty years.

 

Is it painful?

Porcelain veneers require the treated tooth to be slightly scuffed, to create a surface that will adhere strongly to the porcelain. This requires little anaesthetic. Crowns are treatments for severe decay, which means the tooth must be cleared of all decay and bacteria before the crown can be placed. This is a more extensive procedure and would require more local naesthetic. In both treatments, local anaesthetic takes care of any pain you might have otherwise felt.
